Dr Shashank Shah, Co-founder & Director, Laparo Obeso Centre, is a pioneer in laparoscopic bariatric surgery.

He holds an MBBS, MS, FAIS, FICS, Honorary FIAGES, Honorary FMAS, Honorary FMBS, Honorary FALS and a Diploma as Visiting Professor, IRCAD, France.

Dr Shah is President of the All India Association for Advancing Research in Obesity, the Obesity Surgery Society of India and the International Excellence Federation, India Chapter.

He is also a member of ASMBS, IFSO, SAGES, IHPBA, APHS, ASI, IAGES and AMASI.

Dr Shah is a visiting professor at various universities in France, the USA, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Taiwan.

He is the author of numerous research papers which have been published in various national and international journals and publications.

He is the recipient of the Award for Contribution to the Field of Bariatric Surgery, the Surgeon of Excellence award and the Vivian Fonseca Scholar Award by the American Diabetes Association, among others.
