Dr K Madan Gopal, Senior Consultant, NITI Aayog, is a health professional who has been working on issues related to health systems reform in India for more than 28 years.

He has worked on numerous projects across sectors in India and abroad for providing and managing programmatic, technical and operational areas.

He has held many leadership positions and was one of the key team members behind the implementation of the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana health insurance scheme in India and is now contributing to Ayushman Bharat PMJAY.

Dr Gopal has received the National Award in Excellence in Implementation of RSBY for ‘Outstanding Achievement in the Individual Category for implementation of RSBY’ in Chhattisgarh by the Ministry of Labor & Employment, Government of India and was also felicitated by FOSGI for his contribution towards women’s health.

As Senior Consultant with NITI Aayog, he contributes to various health-sector transformative programs including Ayushman Bharat.
