Balamurugan Ramasamy is the Head of a Business unit that offers Engineering and R&D services to global MedTech companies.
He has more than 30 years of product development experience across multiple verticals including computing, automotive, medical devices and industrial products.
Ramasamy joined HCL in 1986 as an R&D Engineer and as Head of R&D in the Peripherals Division of HCL, he was instrumental in releasing a number of new products in the Indian market. From 2000, he has been part of the Engineering & R&D Services group of HCL Technologies.
Ramasamy has helped create and grow the medical device product engineering services organization, which is a 5000+ strong cross-functional team today. He has led multiple product development programs involving next-generation technologies for different segments – Patient Monitoring, Medication Delivery, Diagnostics, Device Management, Cloud and Mobility.
He has built domain-specific Centres of Excellence for Regulatory consulting, Medical Affairs, IVD, Materials, Packaging, Labelling and Post Market Surveillance.
