The COVID-19 vaccination coverage in India has exceeded 189.17 crores (1,89,17,69,346) as per the new provisional reports till 7:00 am on 1st May, Sunday as informed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The ministry said that this has been done through 2,33,70,192 sessions.
As per the ministry, COVID-19 vaccination for children belonging to the age group 12-14 years was started on 16th March 2022. So far, more than 2,90,98,946 adolescents got their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Similarly, the precaution dose of COVID-19 between the age group 18-59 years also began from April 10, 2022, onwards. According to the ministry, India’s active caseload now currently stands at 19,092.
With 3,324 new cases being reported in the last one day or 24 hours, India saw a total of 4,71,087 COVID-19 tests conducted. The country has so far conducted more than 83,79,13,110 cumulative tests.
As per the Ministry, the weekly Covid-19 positivity rate in the country, at present, stands at 0.68% and the daily positivity rate is reported to be 0.71%.
