As per a recent survey, it has been found that the pandemic lockdown has caused severe emotional and mental issues among adults who suffer from sensory impairment. As per research reports, there is a survey team who has found out that people specially suffering from hearing loss vision loss, and other conditions and not doing quite well.
These senior citizens have been asked about their well-being, worries, and social isolation every six weeks of interval from April 2020 to July 2021. Peggy Nelson from the University of Minnesota outlined these impacts in her presentation of Acoustical Society of America.
All the three adults who have been examined have scored lower on their patient health questionnaire. As per Nelson, people who are having low vision have been hit really very hard. Their entire mobility system has been changed. Apart from that, masks made conversation difficult for people suffering from hearing loss. This has led them to prepare other virtual options for the health care visits. Overall, it has been reported that there has been a quieter environment during the lockdown orders that have compensated few negative effects on the adults.
